Bocote (cordia gerascanthus)  An attractive, oily wood similar in appearance and characteristics to the rosewood genus. Yellow with black streaks. Quite heavy and hard, bocote takes a toll on tools as well as abrasives (due to the high oil content). Takes a fine polish.
