I found the 2" blank to be of excellent color and figuration, there is some interlocking grain which can catch a turning tool, but overall, finishes beautifully. Service was great, I prefer to buy locally when I can, NCWOOD satisfies that practice for me.

The three pieces of chechen were a true 2"x2", no close estimates on the down side. One piece had a split in the middle on the surface. I hope it disappears when turning. Also I read that the wood was kiln dried. When I checked the moisture of the wood, it was around 18%. This means I'll have to set them aside until they dry down below 8%. The figure and color of the wood is very good, and the price was quite a bargain! I'm happy I made the purchase.
